Our brand refresh and packaging design system needed to reflect their values while capturing consumer attention and converting new shoppers into loyal ambassadors.
HERITAGE AND CARE IN EVERY EGG
Stewardship of the land, animals and community is at the heart of Contented Hen. We modernized the brand while honoring those values, creating a distinct, cohesive identity and packaging system that preserves its heritage, strengthens recognition and invites a broader audience in.

A flexible, recognizable system across 80+ SKUs
The refresh went far beyond packaging, creating a complete brand system spanning the logo, color, typography, illustration and packaging architecture.
Color as nature intended
Rooted in the landscapes of the farm, the palette communicates authenticity and well-being while creating a flexible architecture that delivers a clear hierarchy at the shelf, intuitive SKU navigation and a distinct, consistent brand presence across every product.
Rooted in craft, built to scale
Inspired by handcrafted farm signage, we created a flexible badge, color and typography system that delivers a cohesive identity across every product line and SKU. The result is a packaging system that brings clarity and cohesion to the portfolio while building a more memorable presence on shelf.
Free to roam, free to forage, free to be
Through thoughtful custom illustration, we honored Mennonite culture and farming traditions without intruding on the people or animals behind them. The approach reflects the farmers’ own philosophy: care for what matters and leave space for life to remain natural and undisturbed.
Built to grow, grounded in who we are
We built the brand guidelines with intention, creating a clear and cohesive system that brings every element together. From color and typography to imagery and packaging, each detail works together to create consistency and a unified expression of the brand across every touchpoint.
Colle McVoy captured the heart of our brand and translated it into a packaging system that feels true to who we are. It honors our roots, supports where we’re headed and gives us the flexibility to grow.
