Colle McVoy has won a Silver Cannes Lion at the prestigious 2015 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the world’s biggest annual awards show and festival for the creative communications industry. The agency was recognized in the Film Craft, Use of Original Music category for the “Beauty Grew All Around” video for Regency Beauty Institute, a leading U.S. cosmetology school based in Minnesota.
“The Cannes Lions is the world’s premier creativity festival, and we’re honored to be recognized along with the best agencies around the globe,” said Mike Caguin, chief creative officer, Colle McVoy. “To win a Cannes Lion is a reflection of the enthusiasm we bring to our work on behalf of our clients.”
The “Beauty Grew All Around” video was the centerpiece of a campaign that helped define the Regency Beauty brand and inspired cosmetologists to help raise awareness of the profession as a creative and inspiring career choice. The animated video follows one girl’s journey in making her city and the world a more beautiful place alongside people from other creative careers, like architects, chefs and sculptors. Vocals provided by popular indie musician Lucy Michelle added credibility and shareability. The campaign quickly amassed 1.4 million views and 17.2 million social impressions, with a weekly average 28 times the pre-campaign average. It also generated thousands of school leads.
