Colle McVoy announced today that Karis Montanez has rejoined the agency as talent acquisition and diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) manager.
“Karis brings incredible experience and perspectives to our team that will help attract world-class talent,” said Christine Fruechte, CEO, Colle McVoy. “She knows us well, having worked with us before, and shares our passion and strong commitment to achieving our DEI goals and nurturing an inclusive, best-in-class culture.”
In this new position, Montanez will manage the agency’s recruitment activities to attract top talent as well as help advance initiatives to meet the agency’s DEI goals. After publishing six commitments to champion change for a better future, the agency developed a comprehensive action plan spanning its recruitment, retention and advancement practices, allyships with communities of color, and opportunities to educate and inspire within and outside its walls. The agency also published its progress toward plan goals and will continue to do so.
“Joining Colle McVoy felt like the natural next step in my career,” said Montanez. “After a year like 2020, the hunger for diverse representation and making a difference reignited my desire for a career pivot. Sharing and advancing the same goals with Colle McVoy means we’re going to make change happen.”
Montanez has worked in the advertising and public relations (PR) industries for more than five years. She began her career as a BrandLab intern at several different agencies, including Colle McVoy/Exponent PR. That experience solidified her desire to pursue a career in PR. Upon graduation in 2016, Montanez joined Exponent PR full-time, where she helped manage numerous accounts and honed her skills. She later spent time at agencies ICF Next and Words at Work, where she expanded her knowledge of agency and team structures. The variety of agencies and her work experiences, combined with her continued engagement with The BrandLab, has given her a great perspective on the importance of diversity within the marketing and advertising industries and the value of an inclusive culture.
