C+M Wants Your Voice (and Vote) To Be Heard

Web sites gain public support for two potential SXSW Interactive panel ideas

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 2, 2009 - Colle+McVoy launched two Web sites in a grassroots effort to promote two panel ideas submitted for the highly regarded South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, March 12–16, 2010.

SXSW Interactive features five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology; scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders; and an unbeatable lineup of special programs showcasing the best new Web sites, video games and startup ideas. The event coordinators preselect panel and program ideas and then allow attendees to vote, for what they want featured through an online tool called the 2010 SXSW PanelPicker.

Colle+McVoy is garnering support for their two selected panel ideas in a creative way that also gives the public an opportunity to be heard on the topics.

The agency’s first panel idea is "Cultivating Innovation in a Traditional Setting" and visitors can learn more at http://www.collemcvoy.com/sxsw_innovation. The site features a description of the panel, speaker bios and their recommended SXSW panels, a link to vote and the ability to easily share via Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore, the site encourages visitors to join the conversation by answering questions about innovation every day until voting ends on Friday, Sept. 4.

The second panel idea is "Coding in a Creative Climate: Giving Ideas Life" and visitors can learn more at http://www.collemcvoy.com/designvsdev. Similar to the first panel idea, the site offers a description of the panel idea and a link to vote. In addition to this, Twitter streams have been created for designers and developers to voice their opinions about tackling various issues, taking risks and working together. Visitors tweet their opinions with the hashtag "#designvsdev" or "#devvsdesign," which allows their comments to automatically appear on the site.
